Sparta Ski Teams Qualify To Compete At NJ State Championships!

I am thrilled to announce that both the girls’ and boys’ varsity ski teams have qualified for the NJ State Championships and are eagerly looking forward to the competitions. Out of the 24 NJ high school ski teams, the top ten will be competing for the podium. The State Championships will be held at Mountain Creek over two days, with the Giant Slalom competition on Friday, February 23rd, and the Slalom competition on Monday, Feb 26th.

Throughout the entire season, the girls displayed exceptional performance, taking first place in five races and second place in one conference race. Their outstanding achievements led them to secure the 2nd rank in the NJISRA, boasting an impressive 97% win percentage with 33 victories and only 1 loss. Vernon High School currently holds the top position and maintains an undefeated record. Ridge is ranked third.

The boys' ski team has stepped up to the podium in all but one race, ranked 6th in the state and qualifying for States. At the end of the regular season, they hold a solid 78% win rate with 32 victories and only 9 losses. Above Sparta, are four private schools dominating the top spots Delbarton, Pingry, Don Bosco, and Morristown Beard respectively; Ridge is ranked 5th.
